Just Three Pears Aug 2009

Recently someone asked how I name my paintings (Christine and Amy). What's up with "Immortality and Reincarnation" as a title for a couple of apples they wondered. I confessed that I usually "Google" the meanings of the objects I paint to help me figure out why I painted them. Deep Uh... Funny...I can always associate the "Googled" meanings with my life. So... I could have incorporated in the title of this work the following:

1. The number Three invokes expression, versatility, and pure joy of creativity.

2. Three is also a time identifier as it represents Past, Present and Future.

3. Three may also represent promising new adventures, and assurance of cooperation from others whom you may require help.

The pear:

1. Be a symbol of affection, or can represent everlasting bond between a "pair" of people who are truly in love.

2. Comfortable life with plenty of money.

So in an effort not to come across as too "deep"...yah...I "dumbed it down" and called the work..."Just Three Pears"
