The Day Lily opens in the morning and withers and dies in the afternoon. It's beauty is short lived but amazing. It has many names in China. When it has a cheerful position, (cone shaped) the flower is called "Wong Yu," meaning "Forgetting Worries." In full bloom it is the traditional symbol of playfulness. Those emotions that sometimes you just can't help, they just "spill out of you"
