Painting Journal- Inner Peace Nov 2009-
Inner peace refers to a state of being mentally and spiritually at peace, with enough knowledge and understanding of oneself to keep strong in the face of discord or stress. I finally think I'm starting to get it.
November 2009The first painting, "Gratitude" is my second attempt at flowers. My first "Lilies for the Hippie Chick" sold in May at the Agora 2009. Since then I have failed four times over the last six months to paint a vase with flowers. Finally, like Tom Sawyer, my painting/life came out smelling like a rose! This piece is showing in the Archive Gallery in German Village. My first time in a Gallery! This piece is 24'x 48'x 1'on stretched canvas.
March 2010 "Angela", my work from the 2010 Arnold Sports Festival was done in front of the thousands of spectators that attended the festival. My painting did not place in the judging but I did get the chance to met Sly Stallone. He liked my painting and said we shared the same techniques. Lots of paint and glaze, pallet knifes instead of brushes. Sometimes winning does not come in the form of medals but incounters! Thispiece is 30'x 40'x 1'on stretched canvas.
February 2010 These are a series of four paintings each done in under 30 minutes. Done from memory, there were no expectations. Sometimes you need to enjoy the moment. Sometimes expecations can ruin things. These pieces are 6'x 6'x 1'on stretched canvas.
March 2010 "Thinkin' Guacamole", the oil made from the avacodo is hailed as a youth elixar. Might be eatin' too much guacamole! the last few months been feelin kinda young- like I'm in Jr. High again! This piece is 16'x 20'x 1'on stretched canvas.
March 2010 "3 Apples 4-", Yeah more apples- really carved these. Just keep adding layers to me and my paintings- This piece is 20'x 24'x 1'on stretched canvas.
Still painting! Greg-
